Curley's Resort has 20 individual units between its hotel rooms and cabins, which means every stay comes down to a choice. Do you want a simple room near the water, a kitchenette for cooking your catch, or a place for the whole family? This guide walks through each room type, the policies you should know about, and the offers worth asking about before you book.
The main building: rooms, kitchenettes, and units
The base room is a Single Queen or a Double Twin. Curley's describes it as ideal for travelers who do not need to cook or who are simply looking for a place to rest while exploring or fishing. Each room has a mini-fridge and a microwave. If your plan is to be out on the water or on a trail from early morning until dark, this is the room that makes sense. It has what you need and no more.
The second floor has rooms with kitchenettes, available as a Single Queen or Double Twin. A kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, microwave, sink, and electric burners. Curley's says these rooms are great for couples or solo travelers. They are a good pick if you want to cook breakfast before the dock or fry up a fresh catch in the evening without eating out each night.
On the first floor, the Two and Three Bedroom Units are described as the perfect basecamp for families or small groups, with full kitchens that include a mini-fridge, microwave, sink, and a small electric oven and burners. Bedding varies, so tell the staff how many people are traveling and who needs a bed. These units are a smart option for a fishing party splitting a few nights, or for a family that wants space to spread out after a day at Cape Flattery.
The original cabins
Then there are the cabins. Curley's calls them the original Curley's cabins and describes a rustic experience tucked away on the property. They carry a story. According to the resort's own history, Curley and Thora Couvelier bought the property in 1938 as their home. In the 1940s, a ship ran aground near Sekiu Point, and Curley salvaged lumber from the wreck to build several cabins, which were rented to logging crews. The motel followed later: the first floor was built in 1954 with eight units, and a second story was added four years after that.
If you like places with a past, the cabins are worth asking about. Call (360) 963-2281 and ask what is available for your dates.
What every room has
- Wifi and a TV with Roku.
- Linens and towels.
- A mini-fridge and a microwave.
- Battery-operated lanterns for power outages.
That lantern detail is worth noticing. This is a remote stretch of coast, and the power can go out in a storm. The lanterns are a practical touch from people who know the area.
Traveling with a dog
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Curley's. Dogs must be leashed on the property and cannot be left unattended in the room. Aggressive pets and excessive barking are not allowed. Let the staff know before you arrive, expect to leave a credit card for incidentals, and plan to sign a pet waiver. A pet fee applies. Confirm the pet fee when you book.
Offers worth asking about
Curley's says the best rate is found by booking direct on its website. Two offers are listed on its offers page. Sekiu Summer Stays gives you 15 percent off when you stay three nights or more, and the booking is refundable until three days before arrival. Sekiu Sabbatical offers extended rates from October to May and asks you to inquire directly. Curley's says it suits traveling workers, contractors, artists, hunters, divers, and others who need a longer stay.
Nightly rates are not listed on the website pages, so check live rates on the booking page or call the office. When you compare options, look at the whole stay: a kitchenette room can save on meals, and a longer stay can bring the rate down.
A quick way to decide
Ask yourself three questions. Will you cook? Pick a kitchenette room or a unit. How many people are traveling? A family or fishing party should look at the two and three bedroom units. Do you want something with history? Ask about the cabins. Then check availability on the booking page, or call to talk through your plans with someone who knows the property.
